UPDATE: Jeff Marek has officially left Sportsnet, stating it is time to move on.
We recently ran a story regarding the status of Sportsnet personality Jeff Marek and the rumoured departure from the network. Maple Leafs Latest has an update that Marek has officially ended his tenure with Sportsnet.
The departure from the network stems from an undisclosed incident during the 2024 NHL Entry Draft and speculation has run rampant ever since. Marek hosted The Jeff Marek Show and co-hosted 32 Thoughts with Elliotte Friedman. The future of both shows are unknown, as it is thought that Marek will continue somewhere else with either another solo gig or a co-host position.
Marek's co-host, Friedman, posted a heartfelt tribute to him on X.
"Life throws curveballs at you. I will miss being his teammate, and thank him for being a tremendous co-pilot on the start to our 32 Thoughts podcasting voyage"
Friedman also ended his post regarding the podcast's future "which will continue." It is unknown if Friedman will do the show on his own or bring in a new partner.
