Hockey Forever HQ, an Instagram page that gives news, results and "remember when" moments interviewed Avery for their most recent "First Paycheck" series. These interviews take a look at former players and inquire about what they bought with their first big time money. A steak dinner? A new car? Maybe even grab yourself a house; you name it, I'm sure a player bought it.
However much like his on ice personality, Avery was going to be doing things different and on his watch. Well it turns out that tripping out of your mind on an ounce of mushrooms is something different for sure; and one would of hoped that experience would have mellowed out the often agitated Avery but it seemed to have failed in that regard.
In his career; Avery played for 4 different teams and scored 90 goals and 157 assists to go along with over 1500 PIM; his best season came in 05-06 where he scored 39 points for the LA Kings and is also infamous for his stick waving antics in Martin Brodeur's crease, leading to "The Sean Avery Rule" where players can't do that anymore.
