It was a beautiful tribute though seen through solemn eyes, as fans gathered at the Scotiabank Saddledome to pay homage to the late Johnny Gaudreau at a candlelight vigil on Wednesday.

The news of the tragic death of Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau one week ago has shaken the hockey world and continues to bring in tributes from all over to pay homage to the two brothers. Many players, professional sports teams, even politicians paid their respects to the families of Johnny and Matthew; and last night there was a huge gathering to remember him.

You can see the hundreds upon hundreds of people who gathered to pay their respects. Dozens of bottles of Gatorade line the steps of the Saddledome amongst the piles of flowers, cards, jerseys, flags, hats and more as people have shown up through the week to pay their respects. Last night, the team and arena decided to have an official vigil to commemorate the life of Gaudreau.
The Columbus Blue Jackets also held a memorial for the brothers at Nationwide Arena on Wednesday night as well.
The Gaudreau family is going to hold a memorial service on September 9th at 12 p.m. and for fans who want to share in the service; Columbus is going to host a live stream of the service for anyone who wishes to attend.
Our condolences continue to go out to the Gaudreau family during this difficult time.
