The Philadelphia Flyers have decided that something wasn't up to snuff with Ryan Johansen, and placed the forward on waivers Tuesday citing a contract breach.

Philadelphia acquired the forward towards the end of last season from the Colorado Avalanche alongside a first-round pick for defenseman Sean Walker.
Johansen never played a game after being sent over from Colorado due to a nagging hip injury, something Flyers GM Daniel Briere alluded to at the beginning of summer.
"If he's healthy he would be in camp and have the chance to show us what he can do," Briere said. "If he's not and he needs surgery, then he'll have to go through that."
Johansen's career has been marred with several injuries, and Philadelphia even tried to dump the forward in the AHL but due to legalities, Johansen had to remain a part of the NHL roster.
Drafted 4th overall by Columbus in 2010, Johansen has played 14 seasons with Columbus, Nashville and Colorado and amassed 202 goals and 376 assists in 905 NHL games; a far cry from his minor league days and a big 'What If?' had he been able to stay healthy in his time on the ice.
