Reporter suggests more Sportsnet layoffs after Jeff Marek release

YYZ Sports Media on X, originally broke the news about Jeff Marek being released, which was then confirmed by Marek in several posts following the speculation.

But now it has come to light that although the shocking departure of Marek was out of nowhere and caught most of sports media off guard; it may not have been as random as we think.

YYZ Sports has a new post that states that while there isn't direct confirmation, he believes that Marek's release comes "just ahead of changes/cuts/layoffs" and more from the network could be coming.

No information is available currently on whether or not there are going to be any layoffs and this is purely speculation based on sources. We will provide any updates immediately as they are presented to us.
