Superstition in sports is nothing new; eating the same meal, using the same equipment, jumping over the foul line in baseball. But for one Bruins fan, a superstitious sacrifice finally turned into supper.
Sacrificing a delicious, cheesy calzone is a choice that no one should have to make, but for Rob Thibeault he was willing to risk it all if Boston were to beat Toronto in Game 7.
Unfortunately for Rob, the cards weren't in his fate for lunch as it appears the calzone shop wasn't operating that day. I wouldn't of put it past him to camp outside and wait until they open the following day. This man has dedication. One would think Boston would throw a calzone themed promotion night, or even introduce it to the TD Garden menu for Rob's heroic actions.
For some, it's just dough, cheese, fillings and sauce. To Rob Thibeault and the Bruins; it was a sacrifice essential for Boston tasting success.
