While his tenure in Toronto was marred by a lack of playoff success and the relentlessness of the spotlight in hockey's largest market, Keefe still managed to have a fruitful NHL coaching career. He compiled a 212-97-40 record in 5 seasons at the helm and though his regular season accomplishments almost always secured Toronto a playoff spot; the results did not mirror the 82 games prior.
His playoff record is an abysmal 16-21 with the Maple Leafs only making it out of the first round once, often collapsing when it mattered most; frequently to Original Six rival Boston Bruins who were the thorn in Keefe's side his entire tenure.
His departure from Toronto wasn't an easy one, and Keefe has kept his face and name around the city, most recently as a scheduled guest for the "Elite Team Culture and Mental Performance Training Camp" in Oakville on August 22nd. While not appearing in person, Keefe will offer his advice and insights via ZOOM as well as give personal anecdotes about his time with Toronto.
