During a Russian All-Star Game, Washington Capitals captain and the NHL's 2nd greatest goal-scorer of all time suffered a big injury scare which left his teammates worried and Ovechkin unable to attend the retirement game of Russian hockey legend Sergei Mozyakin.

Sports Illustrated reported Ovechkin suffered a knee injury and had to be removed though it is not known if he suffered it during the game or not.
Match TV, a Russian sports channel stated that:
"This injury is not too serious and did not prevent Ovechkin from playing in the Game of the Year a week ago.

But now Alexander has decided to take care of himself so that he can begin full training in 10 days,»

This shouldn't affect Ovechkin's season, as he should be ready in plenty of time when camp opens up in a couple of months. Ovechkin is currently only 41 goals behind Wayne Gretzky for 1st all-time in goals scored.
