Sheldon Keefe continued to be vague about any updates regarding Nylander's health after the Leafs' game day skate ahead of Game 1. Yesterday, Nylander joined some of his teammates for an optional practice where they were hounded by the media in the hopes that someone would provide a clearer picture. Unfortunately for the media, the players have bought into GM Brad Treliving's "no comment" orders on injuries or lineup changes.
After a Game 1 defeat in which it became their eight straight playoff game scoring 2 goals or less, the good news for the Leafs is that Nylander took part in his second straight skate as he joined the team on the ice ahead of Game 2 this afternoon.
The Hockey News' David Alter reported that Nylander wore a blue jersey, which usually indicates that a player will play in the top six. However, Nylander was not a participant when line rushes first began, instead he was skating off to the side with Noah Gregor, who is expected to be a healthy scratch tonight.
Since he took Robertson's spot in line rushes, should he return, it would make sense that Robertson would be the one coming out of the lineup in his place.
