Get ready for this folks; this is crazy.

PuckPedia, an online tool that allows for some bizarre and surreal team building options has recently had a trade offer that would send a former second overall pick to Toronto in stunning fashion.
One user submitted 5 trades that would reshape the Maple Leafs as we know it. What's intriguing are the names being exchanged; Patrik Laine's name has been thrown around as he tries to settle in again after finishing up with the NHL Player Assistance Program and one place he could find home is next to 2016 first overall pick Auston Matthews. Going the other way would be pending UFA Mitch Marner, which would clear up the rumours about whether or not he is going to stay a Leaf.
Several other names and trades are involved, so we will break them down.
The trades are as follows:
Trade #1:
Toronto receives:
Patrik Laine
2025 1st Round Pick
2026 1st Round Pick
Columbus receives:
Mitch Marner
2026 3rd Round Pick
Trade #2:
Toronto receives:
Yaroslav Askarov
2026 3rd Round Pick
Nashville receives:
Anthony Stolarz
2026 1st Round Pick
Trade #3:
Toronto receives:
Shea Theodore
2027 1st Round Pick
2025 2nd Round Pick
Vegas receives:
Jake McCabe
Timothy Liljegren
Trade #4:
Toronto receives:
Martin Fehervary
Washington receives:
Ryan Reaves
Trade #5:
Toronto receives:
Thomas Bordeleau
2025 2nd Round Pick
San Jose receives:
David Kampf
As you can see, we're looking at a large number of fresh faces coming into Toronto while also being able to accomplish two things at once, with getting rid of the Marner headache come next offseason and also shipping out disgruntled defenseman Timothy Liljegren getting more than just some spare parts.
Interestingly, Nashville sending over Askarov would give Toronto the piece they need to have a strong future goaltending duo for several years to come. Even though he only appeared in a handful of games for the Predators, Askarov is still young and would get the chance to split games with fellow young netminder Joseph Woll; possibly forming the next great tandem.
The Theodore trade allows Toronto to get a rugged veteran defenseman (sound familiar?) and get draft capital back as well. Speaking of, with these trades Toronto receives 6 draft picks including several in the first round and could be flipped for additional pieces come trade deadline time.
