Cole Perfetti, a former 10th overall pick and Whitby, Ontario native, still remains unsigned for the Winnipeg Jets and had a similar year to Robertson albeit with more games, they both had a similar point production total. Perfetti scored 19 goals to go along with 19 assists in 71 last year meanwhile Robertson posted 14 goals and 13 assists in 56 games.
Toronto could swing a trade sending the disgruntled Robertson to Winnipeg for Perfetti, but would Winnipeg be willing to part with a former Top 10 pick for Robertson? They would be hard pressed unless Toronto gave up a few picks or a prospect like Denis Hildeby in addition to Robertson; knowing that the potential Perfetti has is more enticing than any prospective players the Leafs could send.
