Pair of Maple Leafs forwards shine as headliners for Brampton hockey charity event

On Thursday, Brampton played host to Hockey Night in Brampton; a charity event filled with NHL legends, current stars and hockey celebrities. Names such as Shayne Corson, Kris Versteeg, Dylan Strome and Chris Chelios were some of the star-studded names alongside coaches Doug Gilmour and Wendel Clark.

Two current Maple Leafs took to the ice as captains of their respective teams, as Max Domi and Mitch Marner both took part in the event. Below are a few shots of the event. All photos are courtesy of the City of Brampton.

As you can see, it seems like everyone was not only happy to be there, but it seemed like there was some solid competition. Despite not having exactly the peachiest summer, Marner looks to have put that aside for a good cause. It must have helped, as Marner's squad defeated Domi's team 12-9.

The Hockey Night in Brampton event raised $14M for the William Osler Foundation who are currently in the process of building a second hospital in the city. Mayor Patrick Brown spoke in high regards about the event as well:

It sounds like it was a resounding success on the ice as well as off, with smiles and laughs aplenty as fans got a nostalgia trip, as well as see some current stars if they weren't able to otherwise.
