While the regular season has certainly been kind to Marner, his most recent season putting in 85 points in 69 games; it's the Stanley Cup Playoffs where point production matters and for Marner it has been anything but.
This latest series against the Bruins, Marner only managed to muster 3 points in seven games and even worse, over the last 5 seasons he has managed to be the worst producer out of the Core Four of Matthews, Marner, Nylander and Tavares, especially in regards to Game 5, 6, and 7.
Per BigHeadLeafs_ on X, Marner has only registered 5 points (0G, 5A) in 19 games played, a far cry from his regular season output.
While it cannot be overstated that the Leafs have a variety of other factors which contributed to their consistent lack of production in the playoffs, it is up to players like Marner to step up and take the reigns. It remains to be seen whether this is the last hurrah for Marner as a Leaf, but if so then it's been quite a ride.
