In a disappointing season that ended with yet another loss to the pesky Boston Bruins in Game 7; it was time for the Maple Leafs to make a change. This season they brought in more reliable goaltending to support their rookie, and swapped a speedy mentality for a grittier and beefier one.
An impressively large prediction as the Leafs would still be considered behind powerhouses like Florida or Dallas; teams Toronto picked a few key parts from this offseason. While the Core 4 should have no problems putting the puck in the net, the changes in defense and goal may be the key for Toronto to lift not only the President's Trophy but Lord Stanley's Cup as well.
