Marner takes note from Gretzky, Fedorov during offseason

Leafs forward Mitch Marner took a note from legends Wayne Gretzky and Sergei Fedorov with his equipment change as he was spotted recently during training camp donning a pair of white skates.

Marner is no stranger to the white boot look as he has notably donned a custom made pair of skates for the All-Star Game.

But he may have also taken note due to two NHL Legends including The Great One himself. Wayne Gretzky, the greatest scorer in NHL history whose dominance will go unmatched possibly forever; also donned the white skates when he was a member of the Los Angeles Kings.

Meanwhile, over in the Motor City, Red Wings icon Sergei Fedorov also put on a pair of white skates for a good majority of his career. Fedorov was no slouch himself on the scoresheet; earning the Hart Trophy in 93-94 for his 120 point season, and also maintained a defensive prowess earning him two Selke's for Best Defensive Forward.

While Marner is coming off of an 85 point season which is nothing to slouch at; a switch to emulate two legends couldn't hurt. It remains to be seen if those white skates will be attached to a blue and white jersey for a full season.
