Maple Leafs captain Auston Matthews has been a scoring machine since the day he arrived in 2016-2017 and it appears he has his sights on being the Maple Leafs all-time scoring leader.

He currently has 368 goals through 562 games played which is already remarkable and he's already currently on pace to eclipse Mats Sundin, the legendary Leafs captain who scored 420 goals through 981 games played.
He needs 53 goals to surpass Sundin and with his contract talks behind him and his money paid, Matthews can set his sights on this objective and add another accolade to his already impressive list.
Last season going into this summer has been the best for Matthews as he emerged as the premier goal scorer in the league and ascended into the captaincy role that was handed to him a few weeks back after John Tavares decided it was time to pass the torch. He has been nominated for the Selke trophy as his defensive numbers have increased over the past couple of years proving he is not just a one trick pony.
It's just a matter of time that he becomes the all-time goal scorer in Maple Leafs history, but he is determined to raise the Stanley Cup in Toronto as soon as possible, though it would be just that much sweeter if he did it as the all-time lading scorer for the Blue and White.
