Toronto Maple Leafs' 5th-round pick in the 2024 Draft has taken a gigantic leap as he tries to break into the North American hockey circuit hoping to accelerate his potential.
The Edmonton Oil Kings of the WHL announced that Holinka signed an agreement to be a part of their Scholarship and Development Program as he looks to acclimate himself to the style of play here and play with others more his age bracket.
Edmonton confirmed the news earlier on Wednesday with an official post on X:

The 18-year-old Holinka spent two years playing in the Tipsport Czech Extraliga where he often played against players five to ten years his elder. He played in a total of 18 games and registered a goal and two assists. His team Trinec Ocelari were League champions both years Holinka played, and he also played alongside former NHLers Richard Panik and Petr Vrana during his time there.
Oil Kings GM commented on the signing briefly saying:
''Since the NHL Draft, Miroslav has continued to impress at Maple Leafs Development Camp, and the Summer World Junior Showcase in Europe. We look forward to him joining our club in early September and adding his offensive abilities and instincts to our forward group.''
