Ryan Ma, a junior prospect analyst and scout for Breakaway Scouts; a group dedicated to analyzing the future of the game believes that not only will Quillan shine, but he's "a lock" to play in the league.
The praise is undeniable here. With his NHL-ready size, to go along with speed, faceoff prowess, an unrelenting motor that doesn't quit, and high defensive IQ the future looks bright for Quillan according to Ma. He likened the callup to those in recent years such as Bobby McMann and Nick Robertson; where Leafs fans yearn for the minor leaguer killing it to be a part of their team and while the success hasn't been 100% for those two men, there's no denying the talent.
Quillan, a 6-foot, 200-pound centre would provide the Leafs with a solid depth piece up the middle should any injuries or struggles occur. During his time with Quinnipiac University, he registered 38 goals and 55 assists in 116 games and also had a brief 7-game stint with the Marlies last year and registered an assist.
