Leafs fans turn on management with terrible rating this summer

Dom Luszczyszyn published an article called the NHL front office confidence rankings 2024 and have given the Maple Leafs a 30 out of 32. It's clear that fans are not buying into some of the moves that general manager Brad Treliving has done over the summer.

Some fans have expressed frustration regarding the goaltending situation as many feel that Joseph Woll and Anthony Stolarz will not be a winning tandem. Woll has shown brilliance at times over the course of his short career but the main issue with the 26-year-old netminder is that he cannot string a season together without a major injury.

Much of the frustration is geared towards the Core 4 and the notion that a portion of it was going to be unraveled during the summer. Rumors were rampant across the NHL that the Maple Leafs were going to trade at least one of those pieces which many felt would be Mitch Marner.

As we are now in August and most teams have spent their money, it's unlikely Marner will be moved, and he has stated that he wants to remain with the team for the remainder of his contract.

Others feel that it's time for Brendan Shanahan to step aside and have a new voice as the president of the team After former head coach Sheldon Keefe was fired last month. MLSE CEO Keith Pelley has given both men his blessing and endorsement and it remains to be seen on whether Treliving and Shanahan change the narrative.

What does this mean for the season? But the team running back the Core 4, an improved defence and some additional secondary scoring, it's likely the Leafs will make the playoffs but still have question marks regarding a long run in the playoffs.
