It's been all quiet on the Western front for Jani Hakanpaa and his camp regarding whether or not the defenseman will suit up this year, or ever again.
Hakanpaa signed a 2-year deal with the Leafs this offseason pending a passed physical, however Hakanpaa has yet to do so and the NHL hasn't officially announced his contract. Many were taken aback the Leafs offered him a deal, given the injury history and how severe it could be.
Hakanpaa could have given a clue as to his status during his appearing at a charity golf tournament in Finland as he was seen wearing the jersey of his former team as opposed to Toronto.
