On Tuesday, head coach Sheldon Keefe shared some encouraging news regarding the team's second-leading scorer William Nylander.

According to Sheldon Keefe, there has been some progress made by Nylander, even though the Leafs had to play without him in Games 1 and 2 of their 1st round series against the Boston Bruins.

Is it possible for Nylander to play in Game 3?

Keefe spoke with the media on Tuesday morning at his hotel in Boston before flying back home to Toronto, and while he didn't confirm that Nylander would make his return in Game 3, he implied that it's a very good possibility that he does. He did his best to avoid committing to the decision, but admitted there's a chance he does play.
"Well, obviously there's no update today. There's not much happening for us today except for getting ready to travel, but there's a possibility for us tomorrow, I guess, is all we would say."

We've seen coaches do things like this before. It's no surprise to hear Keefe opt out of giving any confirmations, as the Leafs haven't let very much news about Nylander's health status slip this past week.
It is possible that Nylander will return to action for Game 3 if he doesn't shut down the idea of playing.
The Leafs have done fairly well against the Bruins thus far without Nylander in the lineup, knotting the series up at 1 game apiece last night, stealing home ice away from the Bruins in the series.
Nylander would give the Leafs a huge boost in Game 3. There will be no confirmation until at least the game day skate tomorrow, but at this point, all signs point towards a possible return on Wednesday for Nylander.
