One of the players still available in free agency is former Flames defenseman Oliver Kylington, who while isn't the rough and tumble defenseman the Leafs aspired to load up on this offseason, he is offensively gifted and could slot well in the Leafs 2nd PP unit or slide into a pairing with Oliver Ekman-Larsson and create an offensive third line defense and try to abuse the 4th lines of the other teams and pound shots on net.
Kylington, 27, was drafted by the Flames 60th overall and had a slow season last year, only scoring 3 goals and 5 assists in 33 games but had a very successful 2021-22 season where he played in 73 games and had 9 goals and 22 assists while adding 3 points in the playoffs as well.
