In a recent episode of 'Leafs Morning Take,' Boston Bruins goalie Linus Ullmark shared candid opinion of Maple Leafs netminders Ilya Samsonov and Joseph Woll.

Amid swirling trade rumors, Ullmark's commentary not only highlighted his personal perspective but also shed light on the strategic decisions facing the Leafs this off-season.
Ullmark, who is currently a significant topic of discussion due to potential trade scenarios aimed at freeing up cap space for the Bruins, did not shy away from evaluating his competitors. He touched on the Leafs' curious goaltending decisions in the postseason.
"I was surprised that they kept Samsonov for that many games against us in the playoffs because every time we played the Leafs and he (Woll) was in net, it felt like it was more of a challenge," Ullmark remarked.

Despite his critique of Ilya Samsonov's performance, Ullmark offered a contrasting and favorable review of Joseph Woll's capabilities. His observations highlighted Woll's composure and technical skill, attributes that resonate with both teammates and opponents alike.
"Just watching him, it looked like he was so much more in control of the situations that were thrown at him. As a goalie and I think players as well, they feed off these things. If you see a guy that is flopping around too much or letting out crazy rebounds, feeling like they are always struggling with it then you are going to be on a little bit more of an edge compared to if you have a goaltender that can contain the pucks or put them in areas they are not a threat.

He's like every young goaltender nowadays. He's technically sound. The only thing that might stop him is the mental game. That does not happen overnight, it comes down to experience, but he has come a long way in a short time and I think he looks terrific. He looks like a really good goaltender."

With Woll poised to take on the starting role and Samsonov potentially exiting, the Leafs' goaltending lineup remains a hot topic. Concerns about Woll's injury history add another layer of complexity as the team may look to add experienced goalies to ensure stability.
As the Leafs and Bruins continue to navigate the off-season, the insights from a seasoned player like Ullmark provide a unique perspective on the evolving dynamics within the NHL's goaltending roles.
