During a season where he cemented himself as at minimum a top-3 backup goaltender, hoisted the Stanley Cup and finished with an incredible 2.03 GAA and .925 save percentage; there were going to be numerous suitors for the backup in free agency, looking to solidify their defence between the pipes.
While being on Leafs Morning Take with Nick Alberga and Jay Rosehill, Stolarz opened up about a myriad of topics including his relationship with fellow netminder Joseph Woll, his goals for the season as well as how he came to call Toronto home.
For his career, Stolarz has been a steady presence throughout his minimal time in the league. While only playing in a total of 108 games throughout his 8 seasons in the NHL while serving primarily as a backup, he's managed to accumulate some fairly impressive statistics.
He's posted a 43-31-9 record to go along with a very solid 2.69 GAA and a .914 save percentage and has played for Philadelphia, Anaheim, San Jose, and most recently the Stanley Cup-winning Florida Panthers. He hopes that those numbers can provide him with some more playing time, and according to Stolarz; Toronto will do just that.
