It's been something that you see every day, but the Leafs were running a very unique-looking power play at practice on Saturday. We'll just have to wait and see if Sheldon Keefe and the coaching staff uses it in action tonight. With the Leafs' top powerplay unit struggling, Sheldon Keefe decided to shuffle the deck in a big way. How big? He's considering using 5 forwards on the PP.

Today at the morning skate, the Leafs added Michael Bunting to the top PP unit. The defensively responsible Mitch Marner will man the point while the Leafs will continue with Auston Matthews, William Nylander, and John Tavares up front. Bunting will likely take over the net-front position, given how well he's been there of late.
That means that Rasmus Sandin has shifted to the second unit where the Leafs will run a more traditional lineup with Sandin and Conor Timmins manning the points. It will be intriguing to see if the Leafs five-forward unit will help get the powerplay clicking.
