There were several point streaks on the line for the Leafs last night in New York, but unfortunately, all but one has officially ended. Michael Bunting extended his point streak to 10 games, while the Leafs' 15-game point streak, Marner's 23-game point streak, Matthews' 8-game point streak and the Leafs' 4-game winning streak all came to an end.
As is often the case with the Leafs, a former member of the team found his way onto the score sheet on Thursday - twice. Jimmy Vesey scored two goals for the Rangers, including the game winner, which had to feel good for the former Leaf after head coach Sheldon Keefe had referred to him as "vanilla", meaning very plain, basic, during his time in Toronto before placing him on waivers.
During the post-game presser, Sheldon Keefe was asked about Vesey's performance against the Leafs. Keefe wasn't pleased with the question and replied with "Are we done here?", before ending the scrum.
